Our Dog Walking Trails

Dorset is famous for its miles and miles of beautiful and unspoilt countryside and we have two trails which are particularly good for dog walking holidays in Dorset. Read on for more information.

Jurassic Coast

Our trail is full of variety, combining spectacular coastal landscape of cliffs, caves, grassy ridges and stunning beaches with beautiful, rolling countryside. In terms of walking difficulty, we classify it as moderate overall, since it has some easy stretches, punctuated by a number of climbs and descents of varying gradients, some rather challenging and in quick succession.

There are miles and miles of dramatic coastline, mostly with no road or habitation between you and the sea. Indeed the only way to see most of it is on foot. We have also added a few inland loops, so that you can visit some picturesque villages and stop for lunch or refreshments in a traditional pub or tea shop.

Your holiday can be 3 days or 10. You choose – where and how far you walk each day. Contact us to help put your holiday together.

Rural Dorset

The route, which involves very little road walking, winds its way through the best of rural Dorset, through mature woodland, along open ridges, over Celtic and Roman hill forts and into quiet, unspoilt English villages, all with their church and most with their pub.

There is an abundance of wildlife to see: rabbits, deer, foxes, squirrels, pheasants, buzzards, butterflies and many other fauna. For lovers of trees, hedgerows and wild flowers, this trail is ideal. Even in the summer, the paths and tracks are usually deserted, and you are left to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the landscape on your own.

It is a simple formula: you walk from one place on the trail to the next, staying in a different place each night, with your baggage moved for you. You choose your own dates, subject to availability, as well as the average number of miles to walk each day. Contact us to help you put your holiday together
