Accommodation

It is impossible to have a great holiday if you are unhappy with your accommodation. A high standard of quality holiday accommodation is one of the hallmarks of Footscape, since we hand-pick all the hotels, inns and B&Bs that we use. All rooms have ensuite or private bath and/or shower.

If you are on your own or would like a room to yourself, you will usually be given a single occupancy of a double or twin room.

On our inn to inn walking holidays, standards can sometimes vary, as there is often little or no choice of accommodation along the trail, although most overnight stops are very comfortable indeed, especially on our Undiscovered Dorset walking holiday. Please try to book early, so that we can secure the best accommodation for you.

A2 a comfortable B&B (guest house) or village inn
A1 a good hotel, a luxury inn or equivalent in standard
A+ a luxury hotel (available at certain locations)

Sometimes we may propose a superior B&B or inn or else a simple hotel where the price and standard are between those of our A2 and A1 options, which we classify as A2+.

Dogs

Some places accept dogs, often with restrictions or with a small supplementary charge. Please tell us on the short enquiry form if you intend to bring a dog with you, so that we can try to find suitable accommodation.

I wanted to thank you for organizing a wonderful walk and to let you know how much everyone enjoyed it. You did a terrific job of pacing it for us, and the accommodations were all great. The stunning weather helped too. I can't wait to come back.                     ...

Richard, Brazil, May 2018

Knocking on 60 years and bearing more weight than rippling muscles, my Jurassic Coast Walk (from Exmouth to South Haven Point) was a tough challenge (150 km in 10 days). I am pleased to say that I did complete about 95% of the walk. Footscape provided me with the...

Chris, USA, June 2018

We were extremely impressed by all that Footscape did and supplied, from the first (and late in the season) inquiry we sent in, right through the walking itself.  We found the walking challenging and exhilarating. I hope we will use your company again in the future. ...
